So part 2 of trying to get out of Tucson. I got a lovely wake up call from my Superintendent at 0830 this morning asking me if I knew I had orders. I already knew and am irritated I still have not gotten my assignment RIP so I can get this whole process started. So a little information I have discovered about Eielson AFB.
Eielson Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located approximately 26 miles (42 km) southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska. The host unit at Eielson is the 354th Fighter Wing (354 FW) assigned to the Pacific Air Forces Eleventh Air Force. The 354 FW primary mission is to support Red Flag-Alaska, a series of Pacific Air Forces commander-directed field training exercises for U.S. Forces, provides joint offensive counter-air, interdiction, close-air support, and large force employment training in a simulated combat environment. The nearest city is North Pole, Alaska were it is Christmas everyday of the year. So as you can guess we are very excited and a little scared. You can image why, as I write this is 5 degrees at Eielson. Wish us luck.

Brrrr! I think it will be an interesting experience. You might never want to repeat it, but at least you'll have the experience!
Your going to need all the help you can get Sis.
